Workspace appoints Graham Clemett as new CEO

Workspace Group (LON:WKP) today announced the appointment of Graham Clemett as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. Graham has been serving as Interim CEO since June 2019, when his predecessor Jamie Hopkins stepped down.

Graham has been with Workspace for over 12 years, having joined the Board as Finance Director in July 2007.

Daniel Kitchen, Chairman of the Board, said: The Board has appointed Graham as our new Chief Executive Officer after a rigorous selection process involving both internal and external candidates. This process, combined with Graham’s active leadership during the last few months and his track record within the business, gives the Board confidence that he is the right person for this position.

“Graham has been an integral part of the strong executive team that successfully steered Workspace through challenging economic cycles, delivering impressive levels of income and profit growth, and we are confident that this will continue under his leadership.

A formal process to recruit a new Chief Financial Officer will commence imminently which will include external and internal candidates. In the meantime, the role will be covered on a temporary basis by Workspace’s Finance team under Graham’s supervision.

The company confirms there is no further information to be disclosed under the requirements of Listing Rule 9.6.13R in relation to Graham Clemett’s appointment.

Additional information

·      Graham joined the Board of Workspace Group PLC as Finance Director in July 2007.

·      Previously he was Finance Director for UK Corporate Banking at RBS Group PLC where he worked for a period of five years.

·      Prior to that he spent eight years at Reuters Group PLC, latterly as Group Financial Controller.

·      Graham is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee at The Restaurant Group PLC, having been appointed in June 2016.

·      Graham’s compensation will be in accordance with Workspace’s approved Remuneration Policy and in line with that received by the previous CEO, with the exception of the pension provision which has been reduced to align with that available to the wider workforce.
