Billington Holdings appoints new Non-Executive Director, confirms Board change

Billington Holdings Plc (LON:BILN), one of the UK’s leading structural steel and construction safety solutions specialists, has announced the appointment of Olivier Aebi as a Non-Executive Director and the resignation of Alexander Ospelt as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from 27 August 2026.

Appointment: Olivier Aebi

Olivier has over 25 years’ experience of holding leadership positions primarily within international engineering and consulting engineering entities. He has extensive experience in the buildings, energy, transport infrastructure and construction engineering sectors, with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, hydropower and renewable energy.

He is CEO of Gruner AG, a leading consulting engineering and design company, based in Switzerland with global operations, offering a range of services to private and public clients in the buildings, industrial, infrastructure and energy sectors.

Olivier joins Billington as a representative of the Company’s shareholder, Gutenga Stiftung Lichtenstein Foundation, which holds approximately 19.4% of the Company’s issued share capital.

Stepping down: Alexander Ospelt

Following his election as President of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (“FIS”), Alexander steps down as a Non-Executive Director and representative of shareholder, Gutenga Stiftung Lichtenstein Foundation.

Olivier Aebi was a director of Tolent PLC, a construction and property development group, until its dissolution on 19 May 2024 and therefore remained a director throughout the period of its administration. Tolent PLC entered administration on 13 February 2023 and was subsequently dissolved on 19 May 2024, with an estimated deficiency as regards preferential creditors of approximately £1.5 million and as regards unsecured creditors of approximately £10.9 million. Mr Aebi was not a director of any of the Tolent PLC subsidiary companies, certain of which remain subject to ongoing insolvency processes; these insolvencies are expected to conclude with significant losses to creditors.
