Billington Holdings reported higher revenue and profits for the six months ended 30 June 2026, supported by larger structural steelwork projects, operational improvements and a record order book extending into 2028.
Revenue increased 29.1% to £53.95 million, while profit before tax rose 70.1% to £2.84 million. EBITDA increased 39.2% to £3.73 million, and earnings per share rose to 16.3p from 9.8p a year earlier.
The Structural Steelwork division drove growth, with revenue increasing 31.6% to £47.76 million. Underlying operating profit rose to £2.84 million from £0.57 million, reflecting higher average steel content across projects, a focus on larger and more complex contracts, and operational efficiencies.
Billington secured new contracts across sectors including energy, data centres and infrastructure. Its record order book provides visibility into 2027 and, for some projects, 2028. The group continues to invest in capacity at Wombwell and Shafton following the closure of its Yate facility.
Cash and cash equivalents stood at £12.62 million at 30 June 2026, down from £20.53 million at the end of 2025. The reduction reflected higher working capital requirements and the timing of contract delivery.
Despite competitive conditions in the wider construction market, the board expects full-year results to be in line with market expectations. No interim dividend was declared.
Chief Executive Mark Smith will retire on 1 January 2027 after more than a decade in the role. He joined Billington in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer and became CEO in January 2015. He will remain available to the company in an advisory capacity for at least a year.
Billington Holdings plc (LON:BILN) is a UK based Group of companies focused on its structural steel and engineering activities throughout the UK and European markets.
