£169m Scotch Corner Designer Village advances as brand commitments grow

Scotch Corner Designer Village

Plans for a major outlet shopping destination at Scotch Corner in North Yorkshire are moving closer to delivery as tenant commitments continue to build ahead of the project’s targeted 2027 opening.

The Scotch Corner Designer Village is a £169 million retail development located at the junction of the A1(M) and A66, one of the busiest transport intersections in northern England. The scheme will deliver around 182,500 square feet of retail and leisure space, with developers positioning the project as a regional shopping destination designed to capture both local spending and passing trade.

Once complete, the outlet village will include 73 retail units alongside a range of restaurants and cafés. The mix reflects a broader shift within retail property towards destination environments that combine shopping with food and leisure, aimed at increasing visitor dwell time and strengthening overall footfall.

Leasing activity has already progressed significantly. Around two thirds of the retail space is understood to be committed, indicating early demand from established brands ahead of construction completion. Retailers associated with the scheme include fashion and lifestyle brands such as Guess, Superdry, Monsoon, Jack & Jones, Hobbs and Radley London. Marks & Spencer is also expected to open a larger store within the development.

Additional brands linked to the project include Boss, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, Skechers and Clarks, giving the scheme a typical outlet retail profile focused on recognised international labels.

Scotch Corner Designer Village brings together an unrivalled array of leisure and outlet shopping. Bringing together some of the finest brands from Yorkshire, the UK and the rest of the world.
