Wizz Air updates on May 2024 traffic and CO2 emissions

Wizz Air

Wizz Air Holdings Plc (LON:WIZZ), one of the most sustainable European airlines, has announced passenger and CO2 emission statistics for May 2024.

In May 2024, Wizz Air carried 5,130,316 passengers at a load factor of 91.0%. Capacity operated during the month was up 1.2% yoy, reflecting the continuing impact of GTF engine-related groundings. During the month:

–       Wizz Air celebrated the 20th anniversary of its first flight from Katowice to London Luton which took place in May 2004.

–       Wizz Air was named Best Low-Cost Airline in Central and Eastern Europe and was recognized for the Best Cabin Crew from passengers in the region, at the CEESAR awards.

–       For the month of May, CO2 emissions were 52.9 grams per passenger/km. This is 1.5% higher than the same month last year, given suboptimal fleet mix due to the A321neo groundings.
