Wizz Air Holdings Plc (LON:WIZZ), the fastest growing and one of the most sustainable European airlines, has announced passenger and CO2 emission statistics for September 2023.

In September 2023, Wizz Air carried 5,538,773 passengers, representing a 21.1% increase compared to September 2022, at a load factor of 92.4%.

The airline continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering in September. During the month:

·      Wizz Air announced a new route from Bucharest to Thessaloniki, due to commence at the end of October.

·      Wizz Air introduced a new passenger educational video supporting its crews in providing passenger instruction during on-boarding, in-flight and off-boarding. The video is part of the Active Boarding initiative that aims to improve customer experience and reduce boarding time. It will be shared via multiple channels including airport displays to reach as many passengers as possible.

·      At the 30th World Travel Awards Wizz Air was recognized for its commitment to providing world-class customer service and pioneering sustainable aviation practice and named “Europe’s Leading Low-Cost Airline 2023”.

·      Wizz Air consistently reports the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km among competitor airlines, with 51.6 grams per passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 30 September 2023. For the month of September, CO2 emissions were 51.0 grams per passenger/km (7.1% lower than the same month last year).

Wizz Air Q1 delivers 13.4% revenue growth, €300 m EBITDA

In Q1 F26, Wizz Air increased capacity by 11% and carried 17.0 million passengers, driving revenue up 13.4% to €1,428.2 m and EBITDA up 9.3% to €300.2 m at a 21.0% margin. Net profit rose to €38.4 m, total cash grew 13.2% to €1,964.8 m and net debt fell 5.1% to €4,705.4 m.

Wizz Air carried 5.88 million passengers in June 2025, a 10.8 per cent increase year on year, with seat capacity up 10.4 per cent and a load factor of 92.1 per cent. CO₂ emissions per RPK fell 4.6 per cent to 51.2 grams.
