Touchstone Exploration recently hosted members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago and the Geological Society of Trinidad and Tobago at its Central Block gas facility and the nearby Carapal Ridge-3 wellsite, offering a detailed view of operations as the company advances its gas development strategy in Trinidad.
The visit began with a safety briefing before attendees were guided through the Central Block gas processing facility, where operational staff explained the function of the plant’s key systems and infrastructure. The tour highlighted the integrated nature of the operation, from slug catchers and three-phase separators through to condensate stabilisation and compression systems. Attention was also given to the auxiliary infrastructure required to maintain continuous production and support safe plant performance.
The company’s focus on operational reliability and processing capability is increasingly relevant as it works to expand gas output from surrounding fields. Existing infrastructure can play an important role in reducing development timelines and improving the economics of future production growth, particularly in mature hydrocarbon regions where access to processing capacity can become a constraint.
Following the facility tour, the group visited the Carapal Ridge-3 well pad, where the CR-3 well is currently undergoing production testing. The site also featured the Star Valley 205 drilling rig, positioned alongside the well as preparations continue for future drilling activity.
