Touchstone Exploration is focusing on increasing near-term oil and natural gas production from its Trinidad and Tobago assets, with Cascadura and the Central Block at the centre of its current plans.
The company discussed its production outlook with Energy Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal on 19 August 2026. The meeting covered Touchstone’s existing operations, upcoming development work and the issues that could affect the timing of higher production.
Cascadura remains a key part of the near-term growth plan. Touchstone expects gas production to improve during the second half of 2026, supported by the start-up of the Cascadura booster compressor and the completion of scheduled maintenance at Atlantic LNG’s Train 4. The booster compressor is intended to support gas production from Cascadura and is therefore an important operational step. Its performance will help determine how quickly Touchstone can increase output from the field and how much additional production can be sustained.
The Central Block is also being positioned as an important source of near-term production. Management is focused on increasing output from assets already within the company’s portfolio, reducing the need to depend entirely on longer-term exploration success.
That gives Touchstone two clear areas of operational focus. Cascadura provides an established gas development opportunity, while the Central Block offers additional scope for oil and gas production. Progress across both areas could strengthen the company’s production base if planned work is delivered on schedule.
The meeting with the Energy Ministry also addressed barriers affecting operations and development. The Government indicated that it intends to maintain communication with energy companies and support conditions that encourage continued investment and development. A further meeting has been requested to review progress on the matters discussed.
