Likewise adds second Yorkshire distribution centre

Likewise Group has bought a second distribution centre in Yorkshire for £3m as it continues to expand its UK logistics network.

The flooring distributor has acquired a freehold property at Howley Park Industrial Estate in Morley, near Leeds. The site includes more than 21,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space, plus a secure yard and parking. It is also close to the M62 and around two miles from the company’s existing Leeds 27 distribution centre.

The investment gives Likewise more capacity to manage incoming palletised goods from the Far East and Europe. It should also help the group plan container arrivals more efficiently and ease pressure across its wider distribution network.

Likewise opened its Leeds 27 site in 2020 after agreeing a 10-year lease on more than 80,000 sq ft. Adding a nearby freehold building gives the company more control in a key region and improves flexibility as sales volumes grow.

Chief executive Tony Brewer said the new site will help the group manage inbound containers and release capacity at other distribution centres. He also said the extension to the Newport distribution hub in Wales remains on track to become operational in July 2026.

Likewise Group PLC (LON:LIKE) is a distributor of floorcoverings and matting and has the opportunity to consolidate the domestic and commercial floorcovering markets to become one of the UK’s largest distributors in this sector.
