Likewise Group has completed the acquisition of a 60,000 sq ft high-bay distribution hub in Corby for £9.57 million, adding further capacity to its UK flooring distribution network.
The freehold site is expected to become operational in January 2027. Installation work, including racking and a cutting table, will begin immediately, with stock due to start arriving towards the end of 2026.
The Corby facility will increase storage, cutting and trunking capacity across the Likewise Floors network. It is also expected to reduce pressure on existing operations in Birmingham and give the group more flexibility as sales volumes increase.
The investment supports Likewise Group’s stated ambition to build towards £300 million in annual sales revenue. Management is expanding the distribution infrastructure needed to handle higher volumes before existing capacity becomes a constraint.
Corby follows recent developments in Derby and Newport and broadens the group’s logistics footprint. The strategy is focused on increasing capacity across the network rather than depending on one central site.
Owning the Corby property also gives Likewise greater control over a key operational asset. The main focus now moves to fitting out the site, introducing stock and ensuring the hub is fully integrated into the wider network by January 2027.
Further property activity is also expected. Likewise has indicated that it continues to assess additional opportunities that could strengthen its property portfolio and material-handling capacity.
Likewise Group PLC (LON:LIKE) is a distributor of floorcoverings and matting and has the opportunity to consolidate the domestic and commercial floorcovering markets to become one of the UK’s largest distributors in this sector.
