Billington secures education steelwork contract with clear delivery timeline

Billington Holdings

Billington Structures has secured the structural steelwork contract for the new Wales High School development in South Yorkshire, adding another education project to its order book and giving investors a straightforward update on its activity in public sector construction.

The project is part of the Department for Education’s School Rebuilding Programme. It will replace the existing school facilities with a new energy-efficient building designed to meet net-zero operational standards. The contract shows Billington’s continued involvement in funded education infrastructure, a market where demand is linked to long-term estate renewal rather than short-term private sector cycles.

BAM Construction is the main contractor for the scheme, with completion scheduled for April 2028. Billington will fabricate and erect the three-storey braced structural steel frame for the new school building. This is a core package of work and will require close coordination with the wider construction programme.

The contract demonstrates Billington’s ability to win and deliver specialist steelwork packages on public sector projects with clear specifications, defined timelines and established delivery partners.

Billington Holdings plc (LON:BILN) is a UK based Group of companies focused on its structural steel and engineering activities throughout the UK and European markets.
