Ampeak Energy’s Uskmouth battery project strengthens the case for UK energy storage

Ampeak-Energy

Ampeak Energy’s battery storage development at the Uskmouth site in Lliswerry gives investors a clear example of how UK energy infrastructure is changing.

Oil and gas will remain part of the energy mix for many years, but the need for secure, domestic renewable energy is now well established. The challenge is not only producing renewable power, but making sure it is available when the grid needs it. That is where large-scale battery storage becomes important.

At Uskmouth, Ampeak Energy is developing one of the UK’s largest battery storage projects. The system will store renewable electricity and discharge it back to the grid during periods of demand. Storage helps make renewable energy more reliable, supports grid stability and reduces the need to rely as heavily on energy bought through international markets.

Ampeak Energy Limited (LON:AMP) a developer, owner and operator of sustainable energy projects. Transitioning to become a major Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a project development arm specialising in Battery Storage and Tidal Stream generation.
