Great Western Mining is moving decisively to advance its Nevada tungsten project, with drilling scheduled to begin in June as the company works towards delivering a maiden mineral resource.
The upcoming drilling programme will target areas where previous work has already identified tungsten mineralisation. By concentrating on known zones rather than broad regional exploration, the company is prioritising geological confidence and resource conversion.
A maiden resource would represent a material milestone. Defined resources provide a foundation for technical studies, economic assessment and structured engagement with potential funding partners. They also offer clearer benchmarks for valuation, allowing the market to assess the project on quantifiable metrics rather than conceptual potential.
Tungsten is used in industrial tooling, high performance alloys and defence applications, and supply is currently concentrated in a small number of jurisdictions. A US based project in Nevada therefore carries strategic relevance in the context of supply diversification.
