Fibo bathroom wall panels were selected by luxury modular building manufacturer Iron & Pine for a project requiring a premium finish, fast installation and long-term durability.
The project had a 12-week completion schedule, which meant Iron & Pine needed a bathroom wall system that could be installed efficiently without compromising the appearance of the finished buildings. The materials also needed to cope with transportation, provide reliable waterproofing and remain easy to clean and maintain after installation.
These requirements are important in modular construction because much of the building work takes place off site before completed sections are transported to their final location. Materials therefore need to perform during production, transport and installation, rather than simply providing the required finish once construction is complete.
Fibo’s bathroom wall panels provided Iron & Pine with an alternative to traditional tiling. The panels use a tongue-and-groove fitting system that allows walls to be installed quickly, helping the manufacturer work towards its 12-week project timetable.
The system also removes the need for traditional grout. This reduces exposure to common grout-related issues such as mould, mildew and discolouration, while making the finished surface easier to maintain. Fibo panels are designed to be hard-wearing and include antibacterial properties, giving Iron & Pine a wall system suited to high-moisture bathroom environments.
