Cora Gold has completed key engineering and pre-construction work at its Sanankoro Gold Project in southern Mali, moving the development closer to construction while it continues to work towards securing the required mining permit.
The company has completed fieldwork and three-dimensional plant modelling as part of the front-end engineering design (FEED) programme being carried out by SENET, a subsidiary of DRA Global. FEED remains on schedule for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The completed modelling covers the project’s main processing areas, including run-of-mine operations, crushing and milling, the scrubber and ball mill circuit, and the carbon-in-leach and elution circuits. Key equipment suppliers are also involved in the design of the comminution, CIL and elution packages, helping Cora progress decisions around major equipment requirements.
Cora has also completed land compensation covering 174 hectares required for the planned tailings storage facility. Geotechnical work has been carried out at the proposed processing plant and power station sites, with the results expected to inform foundation designs.
The exploration camp has also been upgraded ahead of development. Work included improvements to security, accommodation and utilities, alongside additional water storage capacity. These activities are intended to support the transition towards construction once the necessary approvals are in place.
Cora Gold Ltd (LON:CORA), together with its subsidiaries, explores for and develops mineral projects in West Africa. The company primarily explores for gold deposits. Its flagship project is the Sanankoro Gold project located in the Yanfolila Gold Belt, Southern Mali.
