Cizzle blood test enters US clinical use

Cizzle Biotechnology Holdings plc

Cizzle Biotechnology has moved its CIZ1B blood test for early-stage lung cancer into clinical use in the US.

The test has completed laboratory validation and received accreditation for use under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). It is being delivered through OmniHealth Diagnostics, a CLIA-certified laboratory in Texas.

The test is now available to licensed healthcare providers in the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio areas, marking the start of Cizzle’s commercial rollout in the US.

CIZ1B is a biomarker associated with early-stage lung cancer. The blood test is designed to provide additional information when assessing patients and can be used alongside existing clinical assessment and imaging rather than replacing standard diagnostic procedures.

Cizzle is working with its North American licensing partner, Cizzle Bio, to expand availability across the US. A second laboratory partnership with BioBridge Global is supporting plans to make the test available to healthcare providers in South Texas once validation is completed.

The company is also planning to expand its laboratory network into other US states, with the aim of building wider access to the test.

Cizzle has strengthened its intellectual property position with US and Canadian patents covering its CIZ1B technology. Its licensing agreement with Cizzle Bio has also been extended, with guaranteed minimum royalty receipts increased to around US$5.9 million.

Cizzle Biotechnology Holdings plc (LON:CIZ) is a pioneering cancer diagnostics company, originally a spin-out from the University of York, and now listed on the London Stock Exchange.
