Avingtrans builds quantum supply chain opportunity

Avingtrans plc

Avingtrans has shipped the 20th quantum computing magnet from Scientific Magnetics, its Oxfordshire-based subsidiary within the Magnetica Group.

The milestone shows the business is delivering repeat systems into a developing market, rather than remaining at the research or prototype stage. Scientific Magnetics designs and manufactures superconducting magnet systems used to support stable quantum computing environments, where precision and reliability are critical.

The company said a further 18 systems are currently in production, backed by a forward order book.

Scientific Magnetics also serves markets including MRI, medical physics and scientific research, giving the business a broader base beyond quantum computing. This helps reduce reliance on one emerging market while still giving Avingtrans exposure to potential growth in advanced technologies.

Avingtrans plc (LON:AVG) has a proven strategy of “buy and build” in highly regulated engineering markets, a strategy it has named “Pinpoint-Invest-Exit”.
