Avingtrans subsidiary Adaptix has appointed Spartan Medical as the exclusive US federal government reseller of its Ortho350 portable 3D imaging system.
The agreement gives Adaptix a direct route into Department of Veterans Affairs medical centres, military treatment facilities and other federal healthcare organisations.
Spartan Medical is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with experience in federal healthcare procurement. Its role is to support access to a market where purchasing processes can be complex and sales cycles can be long. Using an established federal reseller reduces the need for Adaptix to build its own government sales infrastructure. It also gives the company a partner that understands the requirements of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense facilities.
The Ortho350 is designed to provide 3D orthopaedic imaging at the point of care. It can produce CT-style images in an examination room in under 20 seconds, using a radiation dose comparable with conventional plain-film imaging.
This allows clinicians to access more detailed images without sending patients to a separate CT facility. The system may be useful in locations where space, cost or infrastructure limits access to conventional scanners.
Adaptix uses low-dose tomosynthesis technology to create high-resolution 3D images of bone structures and soft tissue. The company says the system can improve diagnostic visibility while reducing radiation exposure and operating costs compared with traditional CT imaging.
