Services procurement moves up the corporate agenda

Gattaca Plc

Services Procurement Outsourcing, or SPO, is becoming more relevant as companies look for better control over complex service spending without adding permanent internal cost.

SPO allows an organisation to outsource parts of its services procurement function to a specialist provider. This can include supplier selection, contract support, compliance checks, spend visibility and category management across areas such as engineering, technology, consultancy, facilities, marketing and contingent labour.

Services spending can be large, fragmented and difficult to manage. When companies use multiple suppliers across major projects, weak procurement control can increase cost, delay delivery and create compliance risk. SPO is positioned as a way to reduce those risks while giving internal procurement teams access to specialist knowledge and market insight.

The model is not presented as a full replacement for in-house procurement. Instead, it supports existing teams where they lack time, data or specialist category expertise. That makes it relevant for companies trying to stay lean while still improving commercial control.

Gattaca plc (LON:GATC) is a specialist recruitment and workforce solutions company headquartered in Fareham, UK. It provides contract and permanent staffing solutions, engineering consultancy, and statement of work (SOW) services. Brands include Matchtech, Gattaca Projects and InfoSec People.
