RM has expanded the range of management information systems supported by its RM Unify platform, allowing more schools to connect their administrative systems directly to the company’s identity and access management service.
RM Unify is widely used by schools as a single sign-on platform, allowing staff and pupils to access multiple education applications with one set of login credentials. The platform also links with a school’s management information system (MIS) so that user accounts can be automatically created, updated and removed based on official enrolment and staffing data.
The latest update introduces support for the GO4Schools and Compass MIS platforms. As schools adopt a broader range of MIS providers, RM’s ability to connect RM Unify to these systems ensures the platform remains compatible with changing administrative infrastructure.
For schools, the integration means that pupil and staff records stored in the MIS can be used to automatically provision accounts in RM Unify. New users can be granted access to approved applications as soon as they appear in the MIS, while accounts can be removed automatically when a user leaves the school.
The update also adds support for the Arbor multi-academy trust MIS environment. In this configuration, a trust can create a dedicated RM Unify establishment connected directly to the Arbor MAT system, enabling centralised user provisioning across multiple schools.
As multi-academy trusts continue to expand, the ability to manage identities and application access at trust level becomes increasingly relevant. Linking RM Unify directly to a trust MIS allows IT administrators to manage accounts for staff working across several schools from a single system.
