Physitrack has published a comparison of practice management systems for UK physiotherapists, assessing software options based on clinic size, clinical records, appointment booking, invoicing and exercise prescription.
The guide covers eight platforms: Physitrack, Cliniko, WriteUpp, Semble, Nookal, PPS, Smilenotes and Rehab Guru. It outlines their main features, pricing and suitability for different types of physiotherapy practices.
Physitrack’s own platform combines appointment booking, patient intake, clinical records and home exercise programmes. Its published UK list price is £39.99 per user per month, with AI scribing and other add-ons charged separately. The company advises UK clinics to confirm access to its electronic medical record and practice management functions before purchasing. Payments and insurance claims are planned rather than currently available.
Other platforms offer different features and pricing structures. WriteUpp has plans starting at £19.95 per month, while Nookal lists its Essentials plan at £29 per practitioner per month. Smilenotes advertises plans starting at £5 per month. Cliniko provides appointment scheduling, clinical records, invoicing and patient payments, while Semble and PPS offer options for clinics operating across multiple locations.
The comparison also highlights differences in billing and insurance administration. Nookal lists a UK Healthcode integration on its Professional and Enterprise plans, while PPS includes insurance management tools. Clinics are advised to check whether each system supports their specific private medical insurer claims process.
Physitrack recommends that practices assess software against their operational requirements, including the number of clinicians, appointment management, clinical documentation, patient payments and exercise prescription. Clinics should also confirm pricing, additional charges and the process for transferring existing patient records before making a decision.
