James Cropper has won the ‘Most Interactive Stand’ award at London Packaging Week 2026, following a showcase focused on paper innovation, colour expertise and the company’s manufacturing heritage.
The stand featured three experiences designed to encourage visitors to engage with the company’s products and processes. The recognition reflects James Cropper’s approach to presenting its paper capabilities through interactive demonstrations and customer collaboration.
The first experience explored the company’s ‘The Colours of…’ campaign, asking visitors to consider the question: what colour is London? Attendees voted for their preferred colour using postcards placed into a paper replica of a traditional London pillar box. London bus red received the most votes during the two-day event.
The activity demonstrated how colour can be connected to personal experiences and memories, while providing an opportunity to discuss the technical expertise required to reproduce colours consistently in paper.
The second feature focused on James Cropper’s manufacturing heritage, including the first public screening of a trailer for the forthcoming documentary The Last Mill Standing. The documentary explores the people, processes and daily operations behind the company’s specialist coloured paper mill at Burneside.
The third feature, known as the Paper Portal, brought together paper samples, colour options and bespoke material capabilities. Visitors could handle and compare different papers while exploring potential applications for their own projects.
The interactive format was designed to encourage direct engagement with customers and give visitors a clearer understanding of the materials and expertise available from James Cropper.
