Nourish Care, a leading provider of software for the UK social and community care sector, today announced a strategic growth investment from Hg, a leading investor in European and transatlantic software and services businesses.
Founder, Nuno Almeida, will continue to lead Nourish as CEO and remains a significant shareholder. Livingbridge, which has backed the company since 2022, will retain a minority stake.
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Bournemouth, UK, Nourish’s mission is to deliver ‘Better Care for Everyone’, by helping care teams plan, record, and coordinate care, with the person receiving support at the centre.
Nourish provides a full suite of products to assist in delivering this care with a commitment to continuous product innovation. This approach has helped it win the trust of many of the country’s leading care providers, including residential care and home care.
Hg’s investment will help Nourish continue investing in its product and developing new solutions that improve the customer experience, make carers’ lives easier, and keep human relationships at the heart of high-quality care.
For the care providers Nourish supports today, nothing about the service they rely on will change. Customer contracts and day-to-day experience remain the same. The same team will continue to support customers, and data will continue to be handled with the same care and security.
Nuno Almeida, Founder and CEO of Nourish, said: “I started Nourish after spending time with care teams, where I saw how much of a carer’s day went on admin rather than the people in their care. Everything we’ve built since then is centred on a belief that if you make care teams’ lives easier, you also improve the care that reaches each person they support. AI is a big part of where we take that next. Used well, it can be an ally to carers, taking on the admin and surfacing the right information at the right moment, while staying out of the way of the human relationships that good care depends on.
“I want to be clear about what this means for our customers. Nothing about the service they rely on changes. We choose our partners very carefully, and it’s clear that David and the Hg team share our view of the sector and the people it serves. What changes is our ability to move faster in improving the customer experience. Hg’s AI product team, Hg Catalyst, will give us a real advantage when building new AI products. We are also delighted to continue our partnership with Livingbridge, who have supported our mission over the past four years.”
David Issott, Partner at Hg, said: “Social and community care is some of the most important work in our society, and carers deserve the very best technology to support them in this work. We are delighted to be backing Nuno and the team at Nourish to continue delivering on that. Nourish has a modern product that care providers love, developed in close partnership with the people who use it. Better software allows care workers to spend more time on care and less on admin, helping to deliver better outcomes for the people they support.”
Sanjay Panchal, Partner at Livingbridge, said: “It has been a privilege to support Nuno and the Nourish team over the past four years to improve countless lives. Nourish has become a wonderful example of the impact you can deliver when a culture of care and a bold mission are paired with the very best of today’s technology. We’re excited to continue our journey with the Nourish team alongside Hg, who share our belief in Nourish’s potential to transform care”
Nourish was advised by Arma Partners and Shoosmiths, Hg was advised by Houlihan Lokey and Skadden. The transaction is expected to close by the end of August. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
