Firering shifts focus towards lime production and growth in Zambia

Firering Strategic Minerals plc

Firering Strategic Minerals has shifted its focus towards developing its lime operations in Zambia through its 45% stake in Limeco. With commercial sales established and production being expanded, the performance of this business is becoming an increasingly important part of the company’s development.

The global lime market was valued at US$44.3 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach US$56.5 billion by 2034, according to Market Data Forecast. Mining and metallurgy are among the major end-use sectors, with lime used in mineral processing and metals production.

This provides a wider market context for Limeco as it develops its production capacity and commercial activities. Firering has completed the acquisition of its 45% interest, with no further acquisition payments required under the agreement.

The company’s progress now depends increasingly on Limeco’s ability to expand production, develop customer relationships and translate operational activity into sustainable revenue. This marks a change in Firering’s business profile, from a company primarily focused on exploration towards one with an established industrial minerals operation alongside its exploration assets.

Firering Strategic Minerals plc (LON:FRG) is an emerging quicklime producer and critical minerals explorer, with operations in Zambia and West Africa.
