Ferro-Alloy Resources names Peter Secker chief executive as Balasausqandiq project moves on

FAR

Ferro-Alloy Resources Limited has appointed Peter Secker as chief executive officer with immediate effect, following an earlier announcement on 31 July 2026.

The vanadium producer and developer is focused on the Balasausqandiq vanadium deposit in southern Kazakhstan. The leadership change comes as the group advances the project toward the next stage of development.

Leadership change at the top

Mr Secker brings more than 40 years of global mining experience, covering project development, operations and corporate growth across the resources sector. His background includes work on projects in Australia, Africa, China, Mexico and Canada.

He has experience across commodities including gold, iron ore, copper, lithium and titanium. Over the past two decades, he has been chief executive of multiple publicly listed companies, raising more than US$2 billion in funding and bringing five greenfield projects into production.

Nick Bridgen will step down as chief executive and move to the role of non-executive deputy chairman, also with immediate effect. He will continue to support the board and draw on his knowledge of the project as the company moves forward.

Board and management comments

Chairman Sir Mick Davis thanked Mr Bridgen for his leadership and for bringing the project to completion of its bankable feasibility study. He said that, subject to financing, the company now expects to move on to engineering and then construction.

Mr Davis added that Mr Secker’s appointment, together with Mr Bridgen’s continued involvement, strengthens the leadership team as the company seeks to unlock what he described as the project’s full potential.

Mr Secker said he was delighted to join Ferro-Alloy Resources at an important stage in the company’s development. He described the project as a unique opportunity to bring one of the world’s largest and potentially lowest-cost vanadium producers into production, while also benefiting from a number of valuable co-product revenue streams.

He said his focus would be on advancing Balasausqandiq and realising the value of the project, working with the board, management team, employees, local stakeholders and partners.

Disclosure information

In line with UK Listing Rule 6.4.8R, the company disclosed that Mr Secker has held directorships in Bacanora Lithium Limited, which was delisted in January 2022, Zinnwald Lithium Limited, from which he resigned in July 2026, and McLaren Minerals Limited, where he is currently a non-executive director.
