Elementis Appoints John O’Higgins as a Non-Executive Director

Elementis plc (LON: ELM), global specialty chemicals company, has today announced the appointment of John O’Higgins as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. John will join the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

John will succeed Nick Salmon as Senior Independent Director when Nick steps down from the Board at the Annual General Meeting in April 2020.

John is also a Non-Executive Director of Johnson Matthey plc and Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd. He served as chief executive of Spectris plc from January 2006 to September 2018, leading the business through a period of significant strategic transformation and development. Prior to Spectris plc, John spent 14 years at Honeywell International in a number of senior management roles including Chairman of Honeywell Automation India and President of Automation & Control for Asia- Pacific.

John holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University (USA) and an MBA from INSEAD.
