EDX Medical signs three-year employee health screening deal with Arnold Clark Group

EDX Medical Group plc

EDX Medical Group plc (LON:EDX), which develops and supplies innovative digital diagnostic products and services to improve the early detection and treatment of major diseases, has announced the Company has entered into an initial three-year agreement with the Arnold Clark Group, one of Europe’s largest automotive dealerships, to provide the EDX Medical health and wellbeing screening programme to its employees.

The Arnold Clark Group employs 11,600 people across 200 locations in the UK. EDX Medical considers the programme to be the most advanced and comprehensive available in the UK.

The Arnold Clark Group has estimated a high level of participation in the programme from eligible employees and EDX Medical expects the agreement to generate annual revenues of between £1.4 and £1.6million.

The Company has been contracted to provide a service that includes the deployment of its proprietary biomarker testing panels which have been developed to cover more than 220 disease conditions and can determine risk and detect early signs of cancer, cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders as well as many others. The service also includes extensive general health checks.

Employee participation is voluntary and involves the provision of simple blood samples to the EDX Medical team which will undertake testing sessions at various Arnold Clark Group premises from October this year. Test results are confidential and will be computed along with employee physical health and family history questionnaires to generate a highly accurate assessment of an individual’s health status.

EDX Medical is currently in discussions with other major UK employers regarding the provision of similar services.

Professor Sir Chris Evans, OBE, founder of EDX Medical, commented: “We are delighted to enter into this agreement with the Arnold Clark Group to help look after the health of its highly valued employees. It is a very significant endorsement of our science, technologies and logistical capability as an expert medical diagnostics company.

“A healthy workforce provides great benefits to both employees and employers. We have designed a unique range of biomarker combinations to offer what we regard as the most advanced and comprehensive service in terms of diagnostic power and price-competitiveness.

“Employee health screening is growing in popularity. Employees gain insights into their own health status and appreciate employers looking after them while employers are taking the appropriate steps to improve the lives of their employees and reduce time lost to illness.”

Russell Borrie, CEO, Arnold Clark Group, commented: “At Arnold Clark, we care about the wellbeing of our employees, and this is just one of a number of opportunities we provide to help them take care of their physical and mental health. We believe there will be a lot of interest and enthusiasm for this programme, and we are wholeheartedly encouraging employees to take advantage of this programme.

“Arnold Clark Group was one of the first companies to host prostate cancer testing sessions for male employees earlier this year as part of the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative, which is being delivered by EDX Medical. We were delighted with the professionalism of that service and that gave us every confidence to work with EDX again to broaden our offer of health and wellbeing screening for our employees.”

An estimated 148.8 million working days were lost because of sickness or injury in 2025, according to the Office of National Statistics, and official estimates state £130 billion is lost annually to the UK economy, driven by lost working capacity, recruitment costs, and decreased output.
