Corero Network Security is using an upcoming industry webcast to position itself around what it sees as a rapidly changing DDoS threat environment, as attack scale and speed continue to rise ahead of 2026.
The session, scheduled for 3 June, will feature Senior Security Services Engineer Teressa Carlin and Global Channel Chief and VP of Channel Sales Michelle McBain discussing findings from the company’s forthcoming 2026 Threat Intelligence Report. Corero says the presentation will focus on how DDoS attacks evolved during 2025 and why traditional mitigation models are coming under pressure.
According to preview material released ahead of the webcast, Corero believes last year represented a significant break from previous DDoS trends. The company said peak attack sizes increased 262% year on year, while pulse attacks reached terabit scale and often lasted less than six seconds. It also highlighted campaigns deploying more than 50 simultaneous attack vectors capable of adapting in real time to defensive responses.
A key theme of the planned discussion will be the rise of ultra-short duration pulse attacks. Corero argues that attacks lasting only a few seconds can expose limitations in traditional mitigation systems, particularly where traffic rerouting or cloud-based scrubbing introduces delays. The company is expected to use the webcast to reinforce the need for faster, more automated response capabilities closer to the network edge.
