Corero Network Security plc (LON:CNS), the distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection specialists and champion of adaptive, real-time service availability, has announced that it has secured a significant new contract with a leading UK-based fixed and mobile telecommunications and connectivity provider.
Alongside one of its strategic alliance partners, Corero has secured a 5-year contract for a total contract value of $3.4 million. Corero will provide a fully managed service to the customer, incorporating its market-leading SmartWall ONETM DDoS protection solution and CORE platform, including Layer 7 Transport Layer Security (TLS) protection capabilities.
This is a further endorsement of Corero’s position within the UK critical national telecommunications infrastructure sector. Through a highly competitive tender process, Corero was selected not only for its market-leading security solution but also its ability to meet the customer’s business-critical UK regulation and governance obligations. As a Tier-1 telecommunications provider in the UK, the customer is required to comply with the requirements of the UK Cyber Security and Resilience Bill and the Telecommunications Security Act, which requires enhanced security capabilities and demonstrable UK operational sovereignty. Corero’s on-premises DDoS solution and UK-based security operations centre are key components in providing this capability to the customer.
Separately, Corero has been awarded a new customer contract with one of the world’s leading NeoCloud companies. This 3-year contract with a total contract value of $0.5 million is for the deployment of Corero’s SmartWall ONETM solution in two of the customer’s data centres with the opportunity to expand across the broader data centre portfolio in the coming months.
Carl Herberger, CEO of Corero, commented:
“I am delighted that Corero has been selected by one of the UK’s leading telecommunications providers for such a significant contract, a meaningful joint win alongside one of our important alliance partners. This award is a powerful endorsement of both our market-leading DDoS protection technology and the strength of our on-premises, sovereign deployment model, which is increasingly critical for operators of critical national infrastructure.
I am excited by the potential to grow our relationship with our latest NeoCloud customer. This contract win highlights Corero’s continued success in the emerging NeoCloud market, with Corero now protecting three of the world’s largest providers. In a market where uptime and speed of response are paramount, Corero’s real-time, adaptive DDoS protection meets the customer requirements. NeoClouds and AI data centres provide further potential revenue growth opportunities for Corero.
These two contract wins demonstrate the momentum that the business is building.”
