Arbuthnot Commercial ABL backs Celltech expansion with tailored funding package

Arbuthnot Banking Group

Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending has arranged a tailored funding package for Celltech Communications, providing additional working capital to support the telecommunications infrastructure services company’s next phase of growth.

The package comprises a confidential invoice discounting facility and a revolving credit facility, giving Celltech access to flexible funding as it expands its operations and pursues further business opportunities. The arrangement follows a significant investment in Celltech by private equity firm Key Capital Partners in December 2025, which supported the company’s founders in accelerating its development.

Celltech provides specialist services for the installation, upgrading, maintenance and decommissioning of mobile telecommunications towers across the UK. Its activities include rigging, electrical work, logistics and surveying, placing the business within the infrastructure services supply chain supporting mobile network deployment and maintenance.

The funding package is intended to provide the financial flexibility required to manage working capital requirements alongside growth. For service businesses operating in infrastructure markets, cash flow can be affected by the timing of customer payments, project schedules and the costs associated with delivering contracts. Access to appropriate funding can help bridge these gaps while supporting day-to-day operations and future expansion.

The invoice discounting facility allows Celltech to access funding against eligible outstanding invoices, helping convert amounts owed by customers into working capital before payment is received. The revolving credit facility provides a separate source of borrowing that can be drawn and repaid as required, subject to the agreed terms. Together, the facilities are designed to provide flexibility as the business manages its financial requirements.

Key Capital Partners Investment Manager David Cameron said the funding arrangement would support Celltech as it continues to scale and respond to demand for 5G infrastructure across the UK. He also highlighted Arbuthnot’s commercial approach and understanding of the company’s growth plans during the financing process.

Richard Ackers, Director of Business Development for the North East at Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending, said the facilities had been structured to align with Celltech’s ambitions and provide the working capital needed to pursue opportunities in the UK telecommunications infrastructure services market.
