Arbuthnot Banking Group has raised its expectations for full-year 2026 profit before tax following growth across its lending and wealth management businesses.
The Group reported a 12% increase in customer loans and leased assets to £2.5 billion in the nine months to 30 September 2026, compared with £2.2 billion a year earlier. Customer deposits increased by 10% to £4.9 billion.
Funds under management and administration (FuMA) rose 21% year-on-year to £3.1 billion, supported by new client money and investment performance. Gross inflows reached £458 million during the period, representing annualised growth of 23%
The Group’s specialist lending businesses recorded combined loan book growth of 26% over the 12 months to September 2026.
Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending (ACABL) increased its loan book by 39% since December 2025 to £305.6 million. Growth was driven primarily by new clients, which accounted for 82% of the increase, alongside private equity-sponsored transactions.
Renaissance Asset Finance (RAF) reported a 45% increase in its loan book over the year to £409.5 million. The business recorded 43% growth since December 2025, primarily supported by demand for specialist financing of high-value vehicles for high-net-worth individuals.
RAF’s Block Discounting business also continued to expand, with its loan book increasing by 25% since December 2025. The Group expects RAF’s growth rate to moderate in the fourth quarter as the interest rate outlook points towards potentially higher financing costs.
Wealth Management returned to a net profit in the third quarter, with FuMA reaching £3.09 billion.
Gross inflows of £458 million were recorded during the year to date, with the wealth planning business accounting for approximately two-thirds of the total. FuMA increased by 15% since the beginning of 2026, reflecting new client money and investment performance.
Asset Alliance Group reported assets available to lease of £384.2 million at the end of September 2026, compared with £380 million a year earlier. Origination during the first nine months totalled £86.5 million.
The commercial vehicle division reported signs of recovery, supported by improving new vehicle registrations and increased lending activity. However, the coach market remained subdued, with weaker demand linked primarily to the impact of the Middle East conflict on tourism.
Arbuthnot said its improved performance across specialist lending and Wealth Management had supported the decision to raise its full-year 2026 profit before tax expectations.
