Vistry Group Countryside Partnerships selected for joint venture with Goram Homes

Vistry Group

Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTY) has announced its Partnerships division, Countryside Partnerships, has been selected as preferred partner for a 50/50 joint venture with Goram Homes, Bristol City Council’s housing company, to develop 1,400 new homes at Hengrove Park. At least 50 per cent of the homes will be affordable.

There are currently more than 4,000 households on the housing register in South Bristol, and construction work is expected to commence in 2024, once Reserved Matters planning permission is granted.

The development will transform part of the existing parkland into a 22-hectare public park, including play areas, a sports pavilion, and a new community space. Goram Homes will also work with Countryside Partnerships and neighbouring South Bristol Skills College to provide on-site training to the construction stars of the future. A new energy centre containing air source heat pumps will also be developed, connecting the new homes and surrounding businesses to low carbon heating and hot water through a district heating network, managed by City Leap.

Vistry Group Chief Executive, Greg Fitzgerald, said: “Hengrove Park is a once-in-a-generation development opportunity for Bristol. It is a fantastic example of the strengths and capabilities of our business – by working in partnership with Goram Homes, we can now provide mixed-tenure homes at scale and transform this brownfield site into a thriving new neighbourhood.”
