Verici Dx has appointed Paul Pagano, PhD, as Chief of Medical Affairs, adding experienced scientific and commercial leadership as the company works to broaden the clinical application of its transplant diagnostics portfolio.
Dr Pagano will be responsible for connecting Verici Dx’s scientific development activities with its commercial objectives. His remit will include shaping the strategic direction of the company’s clinical programmes, advancing evidence-generation plans and strengthening communication with medical and scientific audiences.
Diagnostic adoption depends on more than the underlying technology. Clinical evidence, engagement with healthcare professionals and clear communication of a product’s practical value can all influence how effectively a diagnostic is integrated into patient care. By creating a senior role focused on these areas, the company is reinforcing the organisational capabilities needed to support the continued development and adoption of its products.
Dr Pagano brings more than 20 years of experience across chemistry, engineering and precision diagnostics. His background covers translational research and the development of technologies intended to turn complex scientific findings into clinically useful products.
He trained in translational research at the University of California, Los Angeles, and has contributed to publications addressing directed evolution, microfluidic lab-on-chip technology, resistance mechanisms in targeted cancer therapy and strategies for detecting disease at an early stage.
Most recently, Dr Pagano served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of LungLife AI. During his tenure, he led the development and commercial launch of an early lung cancer detection product that was subsequently licensed by a liquid biopsy company.
