Touchstone Exploration has brought two new oil wells into production on the WD-8 block in Trinidad and Tobago, adding fresh near-term output while continuing work across its wider portfolio.
The FR-1835 and FR-1836 wells were placed on production in mid-May 2026 and have averaged a combined 175 barrels per day of medium-gravity crude oil. The drilling campaign has now moved into cash-generating production. These are not exploration results awaiting future development. They are new barrels flowing into the business now, with the company continuing to monitor and optimise the wells as production data builds.
The WD-8 follows the exchange of the Fyzabad asset, which helped fund the drilling campaign. Touchstone has recycled portfolio value into new development activity and has now converted that activity into producing wells.
The company is also progressing work at Cascadura on the Ortoire block. A new booster compressor is moving through mechanical and electrical installation, with commissioning expected to begin in June 2026. The compressor is designed to reduce wellhead backpressure and improve production efficiency where regional pipeline capacity has restricted flows.
Touchstone Exploration Inc (LON:TXP) is a Canadian-based, international upstream oil and gas company currently active in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Primera Oil and Gas is the Trinidadian subsidiary of Touchstone.
