Touchstone Exploration has advanced its Cascadura gas project in Trinidad with the arrival and transport of a major compressor package to the Rio Claro site.
The equipment was shipped from Houston to Point Lisas before being moved inland under a specialist logistics operation. It is a key part of the company’s plan to increase gas output from Cascadura by lowering pressure in the facility and supporting stronger flow into the domestic market.
Cascadura’s next step depends on infrastructure, not just reserves. The compressor is intended to improve plant performance, stabilise operations and allow more gas to move through the system. Installation and commissioning are expected to follow, with start-up targeted from late June.
The package includes a 3,750 horsepower compressor and was transported in six large sections, reflecting the scale of the equipment and the operational planning needed to deliver it. The move required route checks, permits and police coordination, underlining that this was a significant field execution milestone rather than a routine shipment.
Touchstone Exploration Inc (LON:TXP) is a Canadian-based, international upstream oil and gas company currently active in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Primera Oil and Gas is the Trinidadian subsidiary of Touchstone.
