Talking Medicines moves to capture pharma demand for better patient intelligence

Proposed changes to US pharmaceutical advertising rules could strengthen demand for the type of patient intelligence provided by Talking Medicines.

The US Food and Drug Administration added a proposal on transparency in direct-to-consumer advertising to its Unified Agenda in July 2026. At the same time, US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. indicated that the existing “adequate provision” framework could be reviewed. Any tightening of the rules would put more pressure on pharmaceutical companies to get consumer-facing messaging right before campaigns are launched.

Talking Medicines DrugVoice platform uses artificial intelligence to analyse real-world healthcare conversations and identify what patients are saying about treatments, symptoms, unmet needs, misconceptions and concerns.

If pharmaceutical companies face stricter requirements around how products are presented to patients, they may need better evidence on what those patients understand, question and respond to before advertising is created. DrugVoice is designed to provide that information earlier in the process.

Instead of relying mainly on campaign performance data after launch, Talking Medicines is targeting the planning stage. Its technology is intended to help pharmaceutical brands and agencies shape messaging around actual patient conversations rather than assumptions.

Poorly judged messaging can create compliance risk, weaken campaign effectiveness and force companies to make changes after money has already been committed. Better intelligence at the start of the process can help reduce those risks.

Talking Medicines also combines Patient Intelligence with Healthcare Professional Intelligence. Patient data can show how people talk about treatments, what concerns them and where misunderstandings exist. Healthcare professional data can provide insight into prescribing priorities, clinical engagement and treatment adoption.

Bringing those perspectives together can help pharmaceutical companies make more informed decisions before committing to campaign strategy.
