Sintana Energy secures Angola entry as exploration strategy expands

Sintana Energy

Sintana Energy has signed definitive agreements that would give the company exposure to exploration acreage in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin.

The transaction marks a further expansion of Sintana’s exploration portfolio and gives the company access to another jurisdiction with potential for future oil and gas activity. The agreements move the Angola opportunity beyond preliminary discussions and into a formal transaction structure.

The proposed entry is linked to acreage associated with Corcel in the Kwanza Basin. Adding Angola gives the company another exploration position alongside its existing interests and increases the number of assets that could contribute to future drilling activity.

Sintana’s move into Angola comes as the wider industry reassesses the role of exploration in future oil and gas supply.

President and executive director Eytan Uliel is due to take part in TEE360 Live in London on 28 September 2026. The event will bring together senior oil and gas executives and emerging industry leaders to discuss the outlook for global exploration.

Uliel is scheduled to join a panel focused on the return of global exploration and where new oil and gas supply could come from over the next decade. The discussion is expected to cover recent exploration trends, new acreage awards, the expansion of major companies into additional countries and the selective return of independent and junior companies to higher-impact exploration opportunities.

Sintana Energy Inc (TSX-V:SEI, OTCQX:SEUSF) is a public oil and natural gas exploration company listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange.
