Royal Mail PLC appoints Lynne Peacock as a Non-Executive Director

Royal Mail plc (LON: RMG) has today announced that Lynne Peacock has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, to take effect from 1 November 2019. Lynne will also take over the role as Chair of the Remuneration Committee from Simon Thompson, who assumed the role on an interim basis on 18 July 2019.

Lynne has over 20 years’ experience as an Executive and Non-Executive Director both in the financial services and non-financial services sectors. This includes as Chief Executive Officer of Woolwich Plc and Chief Executive Officer of National Australia Bank Europe Limited (NAB). She has been involved in a variety of successful transactions including an IPO and FTSE 100 listing, the sale of the Woolwich plc to Barclays and the disinvestment of NAB’s Irish operations.

Prior to moving into financial services, Lynne held positions with Unilever plc and Tate and Lyle plc. She was previously a Non-Executive Director at Standard Life Aberdeen plc, Scottish Water and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group. Lynne is currently the Senior Independent Director of Nationwide Building Society and a Non-Executive Director of Serco Group plc where she chairs the Remuneration Committee.

Lynne’s appointment is a further step in refreshing and strengthening the Board. She is the fourth Non-Executive Director appointed to the Royal Mail plc Board since May 2019.

Lynne Peacock said:

“I am very pleased to be joining the Board of Royal Mail plc. I look forward to working with Keith Williams, the Board and management in such an iconic British company.”
