Oriole Resources has confirmed a 50% ownership position in the Mbe gold project in Cameroon after completing a restructuring and buying an additional 10% stake from local partners BEIG3 and Roxane Minerals.
The company paid $100,000 in cash for the extra interest in Oriole Mbe, the local company that now holds the Mbe exploration permit. The permit transfer has been confirmed by Cameroon’s Ministry of Mines, completing an important administrative step in the process.
This Oriole a clearer and more direct position in one of its main Cameroon gold assets. Project ownership, licence control and partner alignment are important in early-stage mining because they affect funding, decision-making and future development options.
Following the restructuring, Oriole owns 50% of Mbe. BCM International owns the other 50%, having earned its stake through prior exploration spending and milestone payments. Formal joint venture agreements for both Mbe and the more advanced Bibemi project are now close to completion.
The local partners will still have exposure to future value from the project. BEIG3 and Roxane Minerals are entitled to 5% of any further resource payments received under the BCM earn-in agreement, capped at $150,000. They will also keep a combined 1% net smelter return royalty on any future mining revenue from Mbe.
Oriole Resources plc (LON:ORR) is an AIM-listed gold exploration company, focused on Cameroon and West Africa. Their main activity is exploration in Cameroon, where the Company identified multi-kilometre long gold anomalies within its Central Licence Package, including at its flagship Mbe project.
