Likewise adds logistics capacity as it builds for larger-scale distribution

Likewise Group has added further depth to its UK logistics platform with a £3 million investment in a second Yorkshire distribution centre, strengthening the operational infrastructure behind its national flooring distribution business.

The new site is located at Howley Park Industrial Estate in Morley and gives the group more than 21,000 sq ft of modern warehouse and office space. The building also includes a secure yard and parking, while its position just one mile from the M62 gives it clear relevance for inbound and outbound movement across the wider region.

The deal also builds on Likewise’s existing Yorkshire presence. The company already occupies more than 80,000 sq ft at Leeds 27 Industrial Estate, following a 10-year lease agreed in 2020. The new Howley Park facility is approximately two miles from that original building, which should allow the business to manage stock, goods handling and transport planning with greater flexibility across the two nearby sites.

Likewise expects the new centre to help streamline the management of palletised goods arriving from the Far East and Europe. At a time when import timing, warehousing availability and transport efficiency can all affect working capital and customer service, additional well-located distribution capacity may reduce operational friction and support a more resilient platform for growth.

Chief executive Tony Brewer said the acquisition of the freehold of a second Leeds distribution hub will allow incoming containers to be planned more efficiently and will release capacity at other centres. He also confirmed that the extension to the group’s Newport distribution hub in Wales remains on schedule to become operational in July 2026.

Likewise Group PLC (LON:LIKE) is a distributor of floorcoverings and matting and has the opportunity to consolidate the domestic and commercial floorcovering markets to become one of the UK’s largest distributors in this sector.
