KEFI Gold and Copper prioritises Tulu Kapi as flagship development asset

KEFI

KEFI Gold and Copper plc is primarily focused on advancing the Tulu Kapi Gold Project in Ethiopia, which stands as the company’s most important near-term development.

Tulu Kapi is designed as a conventional open-pit gold mine with a planned transition to underground operations. The project has a defined resource base and is intended to deliver initial gold production from surface mining before extending mine life through underground extraction. This phased approach is typical in gold development, allowing earlier cash flow while maximising long-term recovery.

The Ethiopian government is directly involved in the project, both as a supporter and as a beneficiary through taxes, royalties, and local economic activity. Tulu Kapi is seen domestically as a strategic project that could help attract further foreign investment into the mining sector.

Construction readiness is largely in place, pending final financial close. Once funding is secured, the company intends to move quickly into development, with a relatively standard build timeline for an open-pit operation of this scale.

KEFI Gold and Copper plc (LON:KEFI) is an exploration and development company focused on gold and copper deposits in the highly prospective Arabian-Nubian Shield. The Company operates in Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia with projects including Tulu Kapi project, Jibal Qutman EL and Hawiah.
