Ilika plc makes senior appointments and change of director

Ilika plc (LON:IKA), a pioneer in solid-state battery technology, has today provided an update on senior appointments and a planned change of Director.

To further support the development and commercialisation of Ilika’s solid-state battery products, Ilika has made two senior additions to its management team, creating two new positions:

Goliath Operations Director – With immediate effect, Ilika has appointed Brendan McCarthy. Brendan was most recently Operations Director at the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UK-BIC) and prior to that had a long career at BMW where he held a variety of UK-based and international operational roles.

VP Product Development – With effect from 1 November 2021, Ilika has appointed Robin Bell. Robin is currently Chief Operating Officer at Inflowmatix, which has recently been acquired by Suez. Prior to that, Robin was Director of Product Development at SPI Lasers (Trumpf GmbH).

Robin will take over line management responsibility for Ilika’s Stereax and Goliath product development programmes from Prof Brian Hayden, who will step down as a Statutory Director of Ilika plc at Ilika’s forthcoming AGM on 22 September 2021. Brian will retain the position of Chief Scientific Officer in the Company in a consulting role which will be focussed on delivering rapid technical solutions to the development teams.

Ilika plc CEO Graeme Purdy, stated, “We are delighted to welcome Brendan and Robin to our team. They will build on the product development momentum created so far and bring their substantial operational expertise to bear on the execution of our product roadmaps. We look forward to continuing our long relationship with Brian in his new technical consulting role.”
