Ilika plc (LON:IKA), a pioneer in solid state battery technology, has announced the appointment of Maj Gen (Retd) Robin Anderton-Brown as a strategic defence sector advisor to the Company. From his decades of experience in the military, Robin brings broad sector experience in senior leadership positions covering procurement, logistics, communication and information systems, strengthening Ilika’s links into additional markets.
Robin recently completed his 30-year military career, culminating as the 2 Star Director of Capability at UK Strategic Command, where he managed the Ministry of Defence’s most diverse equipment portfolio, including C4ISR, specialist systems, logistics and medical systems. He has led acquisition reform initiatives and established the MoD’s Integration Design Authority to enhance technical interoperability across Defence.
He commanded at Brigade level and was responsible for the provision of communication systems and information services to all of the Field Army’s deployable formations (Division and Brigade level). Since leaving the military, he focuses on board level support roles to advise companies to generate growth in the defence and security sector. He supports wider defence reform through advisory roles to defence expositions such as the Specialist Defence and Security Convention – UK (SDSC-UK) and has recently been appointed as Chair of the West Midlands Regional Defence and Security Cluster.
