Hercules has outlined further progress at its Hercules Academy, with new funded training awards, a broader delivery footprint and deeper engagement with public sector organisations strengthening the role of the training operation within the group’s longer-term strategy.
The Cotswold-based power and infrastructure services group established the Academy more than two years ago to support recruitment and skills development across infrastructure sectors including power, energy, rail, highways, utilities and construction. More than 2,500 people have now been trained through the operation.
Since May 2026, the Academy has secured approximately £310,000 of new funded training awards through Warwickshire County Council. The programmes will support new entrants into construction as well as provide Level 3 qualifications designed to upskill existing workers.
The awards provide Hercules with additional funded activity while extending the Academy’s involvement in workforce development. They also demonstrate how the business is positioning the Academy as a complementary operation alongside its wider workforce solutions activities, with the potential to generate further commercial opportunities over time.
Hercules Academy has also been appointed to the West Midlands Combined Authority Preferred Provider List. The appointment gives the company access to future funded training opportunities across the authority’s area.
The Academy is also increasing its involvement in prison education and employment programmes. Hercules is now working with seven HM Prison establishments, compared with three during 2025, while engagement is under way with a further seven sites.
