Firering strengthens Limeco’s production and market potential

Firering Strategic Minerals plc

Firering Non-Executive Director Vassilios Carellas has visited the Limeco site as work continues to improve kiln performance and expand the operation’s product range.

Limeco is being developed into one of Zambia’s largest lime producers. Current technical work is focused on Kiln 3, where design changes are being made to improve heat transfer, airflow and operating consistency.

The modifications include removing supporting arches and bridges, as well as changing the burners and extraction system. These adjustments are intended to create a more even flow of heat and air through the kiln.

Kiln efficiency directly affects production stability, product quality and operating costs. Completing these modifications before production is expanded may reduce execution risk and improve Limeco’s ability to operate reliably at a larger scale.

Limeco is already producing quicklime, hydrated lime and aggregates.

Mining is an important market for lime, but it is not Limeco’s only source of potential demand. Lime is also used in water treatment, construction, agriculture and industrial manufacturing. This broader customer base reduces reliance on a single sector and gives Limeco more flexibility in how it markets its products.

Firering Strategic Minerals plc (LON:FRG) is an emerging quicklime producer and critical minerals explorer, with operations in Zambia and West Africa.
