Cooks Coffee targets wider market reach through franchise expansion

Cooks Coffee

Cooks Coffee Company is expanding its international café network through the Esquires Coffee brand. The company is using franchising to enter selected markets, strengthen its brand presence and build scale without taking on the full cost of operating every location itself.

Cooks Coffee provides the Esquires brand, operating model and franchise support, while local partners run individual cafés. The model can reduce the capital required for expansion compared with opening company-owned stores. It also allows the network to grow across several markets while keeping the group’s operating structure relatively lean.

Cooks Coffee is positioning Esquires around specialty coffee, ethical sourcing and community-based cafés. These features are intended to distinguish the brand from larger international chains and independent operators. The company is also seeking to benefit from demand for premium beverages and café experiences.

The company must also manage pressure from wages, rents, food costs and other operating expenses. These costs can affect franchise profitability and may influence the pace at which new operators are prepared to join the network. Supporting franchisees with effective systems, training and brand management will therefore remain central to the strategy.

Cooks Coffee Company Limited (AQSE:COOK) is building an ethical café group with great cafes owned and run by local people. The Cooks franchise model promotes ethical commitment, individual entrepreneurship and local community engagement.
