Conister Bank introduces Plugin Overdraft in collaboration with Fiinu

Manx Financial Group

Conister Bank, part of Manx Financial Group, is launching a new overdraft solution in partnership with Fiinu, who will provide the service on a white-label basis. The Plugin Overdraft uses Open Banking to offer customers access to overdraft facilities without requiring them to switch their current accounts, a model that separates overdrafts from traditional banking relationships.

The initial rollout will be through Payment Assist, another Manx Financial Group subsidiary, which brings a substantial existing customer base of over one million retail users. This provides immediate reach and operational scale, allowing Conister Bank to validate the offering before expanding to its broader retail and SME segments.

The decision to bring Plugin Overdraft to market reflects Conister Bank’s strategic focus on transparency, flexibility, and regulatory alignment in consumer finance. While Fiinu supplies the underlying technology, it is Conister Bank’s positioning and distribution strategy that ensures the product meets evolving customer expectations and regulatory standards.
