Cerillion took part in the Hyperconnected Intelligent Network of Trust for Supply Chain Phase III project at DTW Ignite 2026. The project demonstrated how artificial intelligence, connected devices and a combination of terrestrial and satellite networks can support the movement of perishable and fragile goods.
Supply chains depend on continuous monitoring. When shipments move through areas with limited network coverage, operators can lose access to important information on location, temperature and condition. This can lead to delays, damaged goods and waste.
The project addressed this issue by combining real-time data with artificial intelligence. Instead of only tracking a shipment, the system could identify potential problems, recommend corrective action and coordinate a response between the organisations involved.
This creates a wider commercial opportunity for communications providers. They can sell more than network access by combining connectivity with data, automation, service assurance and partner management. The result is a service based on the outcome delivered to the customer, rather than the amount of connectivity consumed.
Cerillion’s role was to provide the business support and operational support systems needed to manage the commercial side of the service.
Complex supply-chain services can involve multiple mobile, fixed and satellite network providers, alongside logistics companies, technology suppliers and enterprise customers. Each participant may need a separate contract, service agreement, invoice and share of the revenue. Without a system that can manage these relationships, the service may be technically possible but commercially difficult to operate.
Cerillion defined the commercial framework used in the project. This covered customer contracts, service-level agreements, wholesale agreements and revenue-sharing arrangements between partners. Its platform also captured and processed usage events as shipments moved between different terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. This allowed usage to be tracked in real time and billing information to be passed into other business systems through standardised interfaces.
Cerillion then supported customer billing, wholesale settlement, partner invoicing and automated revenue allocation. The platform also used artificial intelligence to explain how complex billing and settlement amounts had been calculated.
