Balfour Beatty Plc appoint Anne Drinkwater Non-executive Director

Balfour Beatty Plc (LON:BBY), the international infrastructure group, today announced that Anne Drinkwater has been appointed as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 December 2018.

Anne has over thirty years of business and leadership experience in the oil industry.

Philip Aiken, Balfour Beatty Chairman said: “I am delighted that Anne has agreed to join the Balfour Beatty Board. She has significant experience in heavy industry including multiple large capital expenditure projects with infrastructure considerations. Anne’s strategic mindset and knowledge of doing business in the UK and US mean that she will make a strong addition to the board of Balfour Beatty.”

Anne held a range of strategic, commercial and operational roles at BP plc across multiple jurisdictions including the positions of President of BP Indonesia and Managing Director of BP Norway. Anne’s most recent appointment at BP was President and CEO of the Canadian business.

Since her retirement from BP, Anne has served as a Non-executive Director of Aker Solutions where she chaired the audit committee and also Tullow Oil plc where she was appointed to a number of committees including EHS, (environment, health and safety), remuneration and nomination.

Having stepped down from these roles, Anne recently joined the board of Equinor (previously Statoil) as Non-executive director.
