Abode has received two honours at the 2026 IER Awards, giving further recognition to its focus on accessible, practical and design-led kitchen products.
The company’s LivInc sink and tap solution won Best Accessory for Major Domestic Appliances, while the Optima Belfast Sink was Highly Commended in the same category. The awards highlight two different parts of Abode’s product strategy, with LivInc focused on inclusive kitchen design and Optima aimed at customers seeking greater flexibility in style.
Area Sales Manager Annette Wensley and National Account Manager Keelea Badham represented Abode at the awards ceremony on 3 July and collected the award for LivInc.
LivInc has been developed to make accessible kitchen design more practical and visually appealing. The range combines a sink and tap with features intended to support users with different mobility and accessibility needs, while maintaining a contemporary appearance.
The LivInc tap includes a pull-around jet and spray head, high-contrast braille markers, a DDA-compliant lever and protective tailpipe fittings. The accompanying 1.25-bowl sink includes thermal insulation to reduce heat transfer and has been shaped to improve access for wheelchair users. An optional electronic waste system allows the sink to be emptied at the touch of a button.
The Optima Belfast Sink addresses a different customer need. Made from granite, it features a reversible apron front, allowing the customer to choose between a fluted or smooth finish. The sink is available in four matt colours and is designed to work with both traditional and contemporary Shaker-style kitchens.
Its reversible design gives Abode a practical way to offer more visual choice from a single product format. That flexibility can help the company respond to different kitchen styles while keeping the product range straightforward.
